Ghana is a beautiful African country located on Gulf of Guinea, between Cote d'Ivoire and Togo. Unfortunatly, Ghana is one of Africa's least developed and poorest countries. Approximatly 45%, of Ghana's estimated 21 million people, live on less than $1 per day. The exact number of orphaned children in Ghana remains unclear but is thought to be stagering. Children available for adoption in Ghana are usually over 2 years of age.

- Your caseworker will inform you of the steps needed to move forward with your adoption. Some of these steps include:
-Completeing an adoption homestudy with a licensed social worker
-Applying with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)
-Collect the documents for your adoption dossier
- Your adoption dossier will be sent to Ghana and Adoption ARK will request a referal for a child available for intercountry adoption.
- Finally, travel to Ghana will be arranged. Adoption Travel to Ghana can be arranged in one trip of 4-6 weeks OR two trips, of approximatly 7 days each. In some cases, Adoption ARK may be able to arrange escort for the adopted child home to the United States.
Through the entire process, Adoption ARK will be with you guiding you through the adoption process and offering support.
