A Safe Place to Play 

A project to provide safe outdoor playground equipment
for the Arkalyk Baby House.

In November 2004, my husband and I traveled to a small village in central Kazakhstan. There we found a very loving home for the children of Arkalyk. We also found our son and daughter! The Arkalyk Baby House averages around 50 children from newborns to 4 year olds. They do have play equipment in their play yard, but the equipment is designed for much older children and is a danger to children of this age. Our own daughter received a black eye and a busted lip climbing on the equipment and falling from a significant height. It has long been a dream to provide safe and enjoyable play equipment for the baby house. These children have so very little, a gift of this magnitude would be such a blessing to them. Quality play equipment could be enjoyed by so many children for the next several years. Please help us bring smiles to these children’s faces. A donation of any size will bring us one step closer to making this project a reality.

UPDATE: Adoption ARK planed on building a new playground for the Arkalyk Baby Orphanage but they were able to receive playground from other sponsors.  Instead of the playground they asked us to purchase new electronic equipment. The money was sent and the items were purchased.  The remainder of the contributions went to the Kostanay Preschool Orphanage to purchase a tv set, 2 rugs for a music room and 2 rugs for other orphanage rooms. We consider this project to be completed.
