My whole life I dreamed of having a son. God blessed me with three beautiful and healthy girls, but part of me still longed for a son. So, we decided to adopt a little boy from Russia. What a blessing it has been. On June 5, 2008, Cooper came into our lives. He was 1 year old at the time of his adoption. It has been almost a year since his adoption, but I feel he has been a part of our family for so much longer! Instantly Cooper and I connected. Granted, he is a mama's boy, but once I get home from work, he runs out to meet me each day. In the evening hours we love to play outside. I pull out my skateboard and he gets his tricycle and we ride up and down the driveway each night. Some nights I like to lift weights and Cooper joins me. Watching him copy what I do is so amazing. He will try to do sit ups and push ups, and he even lifts my wife's 3lb weights and grunts as he lifts, just like his daddy. Cooper also has a special bond with his Poppie and Papa. He has won their hearts and pretty much gets what he wants from them. Poppie loves to bring him balls and cars to play with, and Papa always has an endless supply of M&M's. With Father's Day approaching, I like to reflect on the many blessing that God has provided in my life. I love my girls, but a bond between a father and son is unique in its own way. I am so blessed to have Cooper in my life.
Thanks,
