We love our son!
Anton is doing fabulous! He turned 18 months old on June 13th.
Today we had his 3rd visit with the International Adoption clinic at the University of Chicago IA clinic. These people are fabulous! Anton is very healthy and he is growing! Development wise he is about 3 - 4 months behind, as to be expected. We have had very little attachment issues or lingering orphanage things to be concerned about. The child psychologist we saw today said to just keep an eye on things and call him if need be.
Anton is sleeping wonderfully. He looks to us to comfort him if he is hurt and recently started sitting on my lap to look at kids stuff on the Internet. The most difficult issue we have had is eating. He has been slow to transfer from baby food and he still takes a bottle. But, he is doing better with textures and will feed himself finger food.
Anton loves animals and is goofy over cats! Interesting, because we don’t have any cats in the house. He also likes stuffed toys, something they couldn’t have in the Babyhouse. He is forever taking his shoes and socks off. (thank goodness that’s all) He loves to ride in the stroller and he is learning to swim. He’s been boating too many times to count, loves riding around the farm with us on the quad and had his first horseback ride a few days ago.
We would adopt again from the Kazakhstan babyhouse in a heartbeat!
