We've been home a little over 2 months now. I suppose it's about time I shared our experiences in the hopes that someone can benefit from them.
First, I'd like to say that Adoption ARK is the best. The folks who work on both sides of the big water really know their stuff. They were very supportive and helpful.
As in any adoptions, we had some ups and downs and could not believe we will complete this process. Adoption was a rollercoaster for us. We were even up to the point to drop the whole deal. We were thinking to stop, but we went to a dinner with our Pastor who encouraged us to put our faith in God.
Our trip to Ukraine was long. There is sooo much to tell and I could go on and on but I'll finish by saying this. If you think that you are in control of your situation, think again. The only way your plans will come to fruition is if they happen to coincide with God's plans for you, especially when it comes to your family. If you want to adopt children, be ready for a long, bumpy road but don't lose faith and don't despair. God has your child/children. Open your arms and your hearts and take what he gives you because he knows best. When things look dark and it seems like the whole thing is falling apart, stop, close your eyes and offer it up to the Lord. I can’t tell you how many times I did exactly this over there and you would be absolutely amazed at how many no's turned into yes! Just like that.
If anyone from AA get this, We give you our heartfelt thanks. God bless you and the work you do.
